Lance was born was raised in Choctaw, Oklahoma and graduated from Choctaw High School. He went on to study aviation in college at Rose State in Midwest City. He went on to achieve his pilot’s license and is certified to fly single and multi-engine airplanes and earned an instrument rating.
Following college, Lance entered the Oklahoma City Police Academy, shortly before the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building in 1995. Lance and his classmates were pulled from the academy and sent to work at the site and were the first class to have ever been pulled out of the academy prior to graduation and sent to do field work. The class resumed and Lance finished near the top of his graduating class.
Lance went on to serve as a patrol officer and member of the Emergency Response Team. He responded to several community disasters including the May 3, tornado outbreak that struck the Moore, Norman and south Oklahoma City area in1999. Lance was also a member of the Oklahoma Urban Search and Rescue Taskforce, OK-TF-1 where he enjoyed the technical side of search and rescue. Lance would also go on to work as a Tactical Flight Officer with the departments Air Support Unit who were flying MD-500 helicopters at the time.
Lance brings his skills as an instructor and ability to solve technical problems as well as his passion and dedication to his community and the state of Oklahoma to Gray Matters Alliance, working With his wife Tammy. Lance works as a Device Support Specialist and Sales Associate, working to improve living experiences of those with special needs through Assistive/Enabling Technology.
